Bald Eagle magnificence

A bald eagle unfurling its wings as it bounds into flight.

Photographed on the American River Parkway along the edge of the bluffs near the old Fair Oaks Bridge last month.  This eagle is likely one of a pair that nest up on a large gray pine overlooking the western bluff of Lake Natoma.  These eagles are regularly sighted patrolling the lower American River during the fall chinook salmon run. To get this shot I used my Canon EF 100-400mm L f/4.5-5.6 mk2 and EOS 90D cropped body.
