Into the Chamber of Light
The middle fork of the Blue John slot canyon illuminated by a shaft of light. The midday light shooting down this particularly deep section was spectacular and made the exploration well worth the effort.
I explored this slot canyon two weeks ago with three other friends during a canyoneering trip through Southwest Utah in the region of Horseshoe Canyon, Poison Springs, and Robbers Roost. The Blue John slot was made infamous by Aron Ralston who got stuck when a chokestone he was manuvering around shifted and pinned his arm down, requiring him to cut it off in order to free himself. A good reason why you don't want to do such canyoneering solo. More images of this canyon are shown below.
