Crane duo

A Sandhill Crane pair flying off from their morning roosting grounds at Bosque del Apache. 

The sky was overcast that made photography at a fast enough shutter speed difficult. For this image I used a little fill lighting with a flash extender on my 500mm f/4 setup to provide a little more highlighting.  You can learn more about my trip and tips on photographing Bosque del Apache here.
