Picture of the week

Juvenile white crowned sparrow on a fence. Photographed this bird off of Scott road, east of Sacramento.  This is a nice pastoral area for birds among the oak woodlands.  It is also near the location for a recently approved open pit gravel quarry that should pretty much demolish the area.  See this link to learn more.
