The Last Oak

An oak tree atop a small volcanic outcropping as found at the North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve.  Captured with the moon in the background, and then rendered in black and white in order to give it a more foreboding look. 

After a recent visit on 3/24/2016, I am noting the wildflowers are reaching their peak, being quite plentiful across the entire area.  There is also enough water in the surrounding creeks to feed the larger waterfalls, making a visit in the next couple of weeks prime for photography.  I cover this area in an upcoming photography travel guide on California to be released in the next couple of months.
