Eureka Dunes camp at night

Night camp

A night composition of my camp site at the Eureka Dunes in Death Valley. I was here last week with another friend as part of a 5 day motorcycle adventure ride through some of the rougher backroad terrain.  You can find a detailed travelogue of this trip posted on my website here including more photographs. The goal of this trip was to try our hand at overnight adventure rides with these DRZ400S dual sport motorcycles, and test our skills in this terrain.  The trip ended up being quite fun, working out well. There were no signficant mishaps other than my lost GoPro that broke free from its mount on my handlebars on a particularly rough section of the Racetrack road.

The image above was captured with the help of the moon light to illuminate the landscape. This was supplemented with an adjacent camp fire, and a little light painting on the darker bike.  A couple of small lights were also placed in each tent in order to give them a slight glow.  This was shot with a Canon 70D with an EF-S 18-135mm STM lens at 19mm, ISO 1250, f/5.6, and 30 seconds.
