Castle Canyon butte

A lesser known red rock canyon of the San Rafael Swell in Southern Utah. Located in the "Sinbad country" north of highway 70 on relatively long a dirt road between Green River and Castle Dale. The area is quite magnificent with the various butte formations, and in my mind comparable to the much more popular Canyonlands National Park outside of Moab.  There are also a few quite large pictograph panels in relatively good condition. I passed through this area on the return from a canyoneering trip under stormy weather, enabling some attractive lighting conditions for photography.
