Picture of the week

Violent storm system in the Sierra foothills south east of Sacramento. This one produced a couple of tornadoes that touched down briefly, one causing mild damage to a building in El Dorado Hills. I happen to see beginnings of this storm front while returning from lunch, and decided on a hunch to take a detour and follow this on some backroads to see what would arise from a photographic standpoint. Earlier before this shot was taken while driving through the edge of this front, hail and lightning where encountered as well.  To see more photos of this event, follow this link.
